Nick Hunter
Chief Officer
Nick Hunter joins Community Pharmacy Derbyshire on July 3rd 2023. He also currently works as Community Pharmacy Nottinghamshire Chief Officer and has over 15 years’ experience as an LPC CO. After qualifying he spent time as a pharmacy manager in various Boots branches and then moved into professional development and standards initially for Boots then for Lloyds Pharmacy. He’s also worked for Primary Care Trusts and various consultancy work for the pharmacy industry and pharmacy press.
Amanda Alamanos
Engagement Lead
Amanda Alamanos joined Community Pharmacy Derbyshire in June 2023. Amanda has a wealth of experience within Community Pharmacy commissioning and contracting over an 18 year NHS career, including 10 years as Pharmacy Lead for NHS Shropshire & Staffordshire Area Team and NHS Midlands Region. She has a wide range of experience working with multiple stakeholders to achieve outcomes for patients and a strong understanding of the strategic direction for community pharmacy which she will bring to this role.
Chris Kerry
Service Implementation & Support Manager
Chris is a registered pharmacy technician and pharmacy contractors may remember her as a pharmacy commissioning manager with NHS England until Summer 2021, when she retired her NHS lanyard after 36+ NHS years’ service.
Her working life started in community pharmacy, after which Chris moved into secondary care pharmacy at Chesterfield Royal Hospital and then as a senior technician at Kingsmill Hospital. From there, she joined the PCT in 2000 as a prescribing support tech before moving into a primary care role where she managed a portfolio of pharmacy NHS commissioned services, pharmacy contracting and market entry.
During the pandemic Chris volunteered at a Derbyshire pharmacist led Covid vaccination site.
Chris is focused on service delivery and maintenance to benefit patients and contractors.
Alison Ellis
Business Support/Administrator to the Committee
Alison Ellis joined Community Pharmacy Derbyshire on 1st April 2024 as Business Support/Administrator to the Committee. Alison also works for Community Pharmacy Nottinghamshire as Office Manager and has been working for them for 16 years. She previously worked within the NHS as an Auxiliary Nurse for 2 years and then Paediatric Medical Secretary for 12 years both within NUH and also secretary to Health Centre Manager for 2 years so is acutely aware how other areas of the NHS work and the links to pharmacy.
