CP Derbyshire Pharmacy First “One Year On” Event

Community Pharmacy Derbyshire have been working on organising some Otoscope and consultation skills training specifically on consultations involving children following feedback from pharmacists to our polls and surveys they expressed apprehension about consultations with young children. We have decided the best time to hold this session will be at the beginning of March so we can also provide guidance for preparing for the next stage of the service which will see hypertension case finding and contraception services being bundled together with current Pharmacy First services. Hopefully by then we will also know the outcomes of funding negotiations and any further implications on the Pharmacy First service so can include relevant guidance.

Workshop Agenda:
– Session on consultations with children including Otoscope training
– dealing with difficult patients
– initiation and continuation of contraception
– linking services so pharmacies can support a holistic patient care and maximise returns.
– overview and update on each service – thresholds etc from April 2025
– New patient facing website for services linked to Pharmacy First (Hypertension,
Contraception) for Derbyshire citizens.
