A message from our Chair Andrea Smith
As the current LPC committee draws to a close and we make plans ready to welcome our new committee I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has been a member of Derbyshire LPC over the past 4 years, along with the employed members of the team, both for supporting me as chair and for representing Derbyshire pharmacy contractors over what has been an extremely difficult time. I know that it isn’t easy juggling committee commitments with hectic work schedules, so thank you for the time and energy you have given.
I would also particularly like to thank Tania Cork, our outgoing Chief officer, who has worked hard to engage with and support our contractors over the past 18 months, and to ensure that community pharmacy has been on the agenda and strongly represented in meetings. I know I speak for the full committee when I say that I am sorry to see her go, and we all wish her the very best in her role as Chief Officer at Community Pharmacy Staffordshire.
There is also one member who is retiring from our committee that I believe deserves a particular mention…
We have been incredibly fortunate to have had the support and wisdom of Peter Cattee for many years (certainly he was already a long-standing and established member when I joined over 15 years ago). Peter’s knowledge, guidance, and expertise regarding local and national pharmacy matters have always been highly valued and always greatly appreciated and his considered opinions have regularly given us all food for thought.
Peter, thank you for all that you have done for Derbyshire LPC and Derbyshire contractors over the years. Your presence and input will certainly be missed, and we all wish you well as you continue fighting our corner at Community Pharmacy England.
Finally, I would like to welcome Nick Hunter, our new Chief Officer, and Amanda Alamanos, Lead Engagement Officer, along with newly elected committee members.
Our first full meeting will be on 18th July, and I look forward to working alongside you all.
